This is a rather attractive unlabelled Markneukirchen/Schönbach violin from the late 1800s. It’s well proportioned and nicely finished, showing some attention to detail. It’s in excellent condition overall with no significant damage, and only a few chips to the varnish.
This is a lovely sounding violin – sweet, clean, and very responsive. It’s well balanced throughout the register, and has an airy singing tone without any harsh notes or weak spots – it’s also well set-up and very comfortable to play. All in all, an ideal choice for an advancing student, offering a refined and mature sound in an affordable package.
