Eugène Sartory surely needs no introduction here, and we are always happy to offer his bows for sale. Here we have a fine cello bow from around 1910 – a great musician’s bow with excellent weight and balance with some minor restoration.

For a personal appreciation of this unique maker, please take a look at our article here.

This cello bow is very typical of Sartory’s work in what most consider to be his best period.

The work and the materials are first class.

The octagonal stick is of deep red flecked pernambuco, mounts are silver and ebony.

Condition: there’s a repaired crack to the top of the handle and a small piece to fill some historic thumbnail wear. There’s also some light restoration to the frog edges and to a couple of short cracks in the ebony.
