Eugène Langonet Violin, Nantes 1930

This is a very classy French violin made with superb wood, particularly the dramatically flamed back. The f-holes, edgework and scroll carving are very precise. The Langonet family are perhaps best known for their collaboration with WE Hill & Son (they made many of the violins carrying the Hill label), and Eugène worked in the Hill shop for a number of years.

Length of back 35.7m, stop 130/195 mm, total length 59.2cm
