Günter Paulus Violin Bow, Markneukirchen circa 1980

Günter Paulus Violin Bow
Günter Paulus belongs to a large family of bow-makers stretching back to the 19th century. We have sold a number of his bows – all have been of the highest quality and excellent players.

This example is a high-end example branded *** GUNTER A PAULUS *** and mounted in chased silver. It’s in near mint condition with no wear or damages of any kind. The stick is of octagonal section orange-brown pernambuco of unusual quality, with a distinct flame.

A very classy bow to look at, also a very classy player with huge reserves of power. It’s a strong stick drawing a bright and bold sound, but still capable of nuance and subtlety. An ideal choice for a budding soloist on a budget.

Mounts: silver/ebony

Dimensions: length 74.5cm, weight 62.7 grams
