Here we have a very attractive middle period James Tubbs violin bow, engraved DM/MD to the ferrule. Exceptional flamed pernambuco, a strong yet supple stick, and a gorgeous sound.

Condition: there’s some little finger wear to the handle above the frog and minimal nibbing to the stick near the head, otherwise the bow is in a very fine state of preservation
We have extolled the virtues of Tubbs bows elsewhere on this site, and the number we have sold is testament enough to their popularity amongst professional players.
This bow is everything a middle period Tubbs should be – a medium firm stick with an opulent and creamy tone, great for orchestral players. Uniquely with Tubbs, the bow will perform very differently depending on the tension in the stick – this gives a wide range of applications and allows for very different approaches to dynamics.
An unusually good Tubbs, well used and therefore very affordable…
