I recently bought my third violin from Martin Swan – yes, very indulgent of me, but what better way to invest one’s money and derive great satisfaction and pleasure at the same time! I was seeking a more modestly priced instrument partly to use myself but also to lend to pupils. The Luigi Salsedo 1928 violin absolutely fitted the bill and once again I am seriously impressed both with the excellent quality of the instrument – it is indeed an all-rounder with superb warmth and depth – but also how helpful and available Martin has been through the whole process. Trial instruments arrive practically next day, there is no pressure, and Martin’s depth of knowledge, integrity and patience are second to none. I thoroughly recommend Martin Swan, whatever your expertise and budget.
