Riccardo Genovese trained under Annibale Fagnola, but while Fagnola’s blingy violins tend to sound like nails on a blackboard, Genovese pursued sound above all else. This particular violin is the most attractive Genovese we have seen, with a supple rich golden oil varnish, and the sound is extraordinary.
