This is a highly collectable violin bow by Victor Fétique, made for the 1924 Brussels Exhibition – it’s in excellent condition with original lapping and face plate, and it’s also a top playing bow.

Victor Fétique is one of the most popular makers of the early 20th century – his work is supremely reliable and of very high quality.

This example is particularly fine as it was made for the Brussels 1924 Exhibition – makers submitting to these exhibitions put special effort into their bows and used the finest materials.

The stick is of octagonal section mid-brown pernambuco of excellent and very uniform quality, mounts are silver and ebony. The condition is outstanding – there’s a small repaired and bushed crack in the forward part of the screw mortice but otherwise the bow is almost unused.
